Strawberry Lemonita
Strawberry and basil muddled into fresh lemonade, lengthened with soda. It drinks like a porch drink and stays under control because the agave is barely there.

Ingredients
2 oz blanco tequila
1 oz fresh-squeezed lemonade
0.25 oz agave nectar (2:1 agave to water)
2 strawberries
1 fresh basil leaf
1 oz soda water, to top
Method
- Muddle the strawberries and basil in the bottom of a shaker until the fruit breaks down.
- Add the tequila, lemonade and agave, then fill with ice and shake hard.
- Double strain into an ice-filled Tom Collins glass.
- Top with the soda water; garnish with a strawberry and a basil leaf.
Panel note
Squeeze the lemonade fresh. Bottled is already sweetened well past what a quarter ounce of agave assumes, and the drink turns cloying before the fruit gets a word in.
