Tequila RB Rey, produced by the Reyes family at La Martineña Distillery in Tequila, Jalisco, has secured distribution in eight European countries as of November 2026, with a target of ten by year end, according to The Spirits Business.
The brand has listings in Switzerland, Denmark, Italy, Azerbaijan, Czech Republic, Spain, Malta and Poland, and is expected to launch in the United Kingdom in the first quarter of 2027, the trade outlet reported. The push is run through AliasSmith, a Stockholm based agency and brand incubator that now represents RB Rey across the continent.
Who is selling RB Rey into Europe
AliasSmith is the agency handling RB Rey's European rollout, and it has run a comparable brief before: Siete Leguas, the Jalisco house founded in 1952, partnered with the same Stockholm based distributor in 2025 to expand its presence in European markets, trade press reported at the time. Claes Puebla Smith, chief executive of AliasSmith, framed RB Rey's position in market terms, telling The Spirits Business the brand belongs on shelf next to established names, saying it deserves its street address, right next to Fortaleza and Arette, and describing that kind of standing as what European bartenders and buyers are looking for.
The Reyes family's distillery history
RB Rey is made at La Martineña, a distillery in the town of Tequila, Jalisco that the company describes as Mexico's second oldest active tequila distillery, founded in 1840. The site was bought by the late Jose de Jesus Reyes Cortes in 1977, and Raul Reyes Barajas subsequently continued the business, securing the future of both the Tequila D'Reyes label and RB Rey. The family's current generation spoke to the trade press about inheriting that history: Silvia, identified in the report as carrying the Reyes name as the third generation, called it a privilege and a responsibility, adding that as a woman she is proud to honour the legacy my family built before me while bringing my own vision, strength and passion to its next chapter.
What is documented about the liquid
Tequila RB Rey is made with 100 percent agave and bottled at 40 percent ABV, according to the brand. It is sold in three expressions: a blanco, a reposado aged four to eight months in ex bourbon American oak, and an anejo aged 12 to 18 months in ex bourbon American oak. The Spirits Business account does not include volume figures, price points, or a timeline for the US and Mexico markets where RB Rey already sells, and no retail pricing for the new European listings has been published.
What this means
RB Rey does not yet carry a published TW Score in this database, so the AliasSmith comparison to Fortaleza and Arette, both scored houses here, is a distributor's framing rather than an independent finding. What is worth watching is whether the eight current European listings convert into the ten markets targeted by year end, and whether a UK launch materialises on the stated Q1 2027 timeline. Volume and pricing data from the rollout have not yet surfaced.
