Volcan de mi Tierra said on November 6, 2026 that The Tasting Alliance granted it a Platinum Award for its Extra Anejo and a Triple Still Award for its Blanco, among four honors in 2026.

The announcement, distributed as a press release through PRWeb and PRNewswire, frames the honors as a follow on to 2025, when the brand's Blanco was named Best of Class Tequila and Best of Class Blanco at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The new release also credits the New York World Spirits Competition, part of the same parent organization, with naming Volcan X.A. Best of Class Reposado and Volcan Coleccion Gavilana I Best of Class Anejo for 2026.

What the Platinum and Triple Still awards actually cover

According to the release, the Platinum Award went to Volcan X.A., the brand's extra anejo expression. The company states that more than 6,000 spirits have been judged by The Tasting Alliance since 2024, that only 49 have earned a Platinum Award in that span, and that four of those 49 are tequila brands. The release does not name the other three tequila recipients.

The Triple Still Award went to Volcan Blanco. The release describes the honor as reserved for spirits that win Double Gold at three separate competitions in a single year, and says Volcan Blanco did so in 2026 at the Latin America World Spirits Competition, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and the New York World Spirits Competition. The company says only 10 brands have received a Triple Still Award since 2023 and that three of those are tequila brands, again without naming them.

Who owns Volcan de mi Tierra

Volcan de mi Tierra is a joint venture between Mexico's Gallardo family, which the brand says has stewarded land in Jalisco since 1774, and Moet Hennessy, the wines and spirits division of LVMH. The brand was founded in 2017 and held its international launch event in Munich in 2021. It produces its tequila at a dedicated distillery registered as NOM 1523, located at the base of the volcano for which the brand is named. Santiago Cortina Gallardo serves as chief executive and co founder.

What The Tasting Alliance and its competitions are

The Tasting Alliance is the parent organization behind the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, the San Francisco International Wine Competition, the New York World Spirits Competition and the Singapore World Spirits Competition. Industry guides to the New York event describe its own Platinum medal as reserved for entries that earn Double Gold for three consecutive years, a different standard than the one described in Volcan's release for its 2026 Platinum Award. The Latin America World Spirits Competition, cited as one of the three contests behind Volcan Blanco's Triple Still Award, is a newer addition to the group's roster of regional competitions.

What this means

The figures above come from the company's own release, not from an outside audit of Tasting Alliance records, so the full list of Platinum or Triple Still recipients cannot be independently confirmed here. Tequila Watch's database currently lists Volcan de mi Tierra Blanco at 59 of 95 on the TW Score, a measure built on different criteria than competition medals and not affected by this announcement.
