Espolòn Tequila, a brand owned by Campari America, is the sponsor behind this year's Scream Halloween 5 Festival in Kingston, Jamaica, which culminates Saturday, October 31, 2026 at Mas Camp.

The sponsorship included a lead-up movie night on October 22 at Ribbiz Ultra Lounge in St Andrew, where organizers screened the film Obsession to build anticipation ahead of the main festival.

What the Espolòn sponsorship actually covered

According to the Jamaica Star, the October 22 screening at Ribbiz Ultra Lounge was described as sponsored by Espolòn Tequila and positioned as a precursor to the main event at Mas Camp. Keanu Laing, co-director of Scream Halloween Festival, said the screening was meant to bring patrons into the Scream experience ahead of the October 31 date, while Brian Chung, co-founder of Ribbiz Ultra Lounge, welcomed the festival's patrons to his venue for the special screening. Festival organizers also arranged discounts with three Kingston costume retailers, Kitty Designs, Fete Essenz and Party Experience, offering ticket holders 30 percent, 15 percent and 20 percent off respectively on proof of a Scream Halloween Festival ticket purchase.

The history of Scream Halloween Festival

Scream Halloween Festival traces its run to 2022, when it launched under HOURZ Entertainment and, per the festival's own account, grew into what organizers call the Caribbean's largest Halloween celebration, drawing over 4,000 attendees annually. This year marks its fifth edition and comes with a new structural change: Scream JM entered a formal partnership with Rude Bashment, another Jamaican Halloween entertainment brand, announced at a launch event at Di Lot in Kingston. Organizers described the tie-up as combining two of the region's established Halloween properties into a single, larger festival rather than two competing events.

Espolòn's pattern of horror tie-ins

The Jamaica sponsorship fits a pattern for Espolòn, which has leaned on horror branding before. Espolòn is produced in Los Altos de Jalisco from 100 percent Blue Weber agave, with a lineup that spans blanco, reposado and añejo expressions, according to a brand description carried by Yahoo Lifestyle. In 2023, the brand signed on as the official tequila of the film Scream VI, a partnership with Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group that included product integration in the film, out of home advertising and a national sweepstakes, as MediaPost's Marketing Daily reported at the time. Andrea Sengara, then vice president of U.S. marketing at Campari America, told the trade outlet the brand wanted the tie-in to feel culturally relevant to the franchise's audience. This Halloween season Espolòn has also run a ride-share reimbursement program called Fare Share, covering 50 percent of an eligible ride home up to 25 dollars through November 1, timed to a Saturday Halloween date that organizers expect will push more people onto the road late at night.

What this means

Festival sponsorships like this one are marketing spend, not a claim about what is in the bottle. Tequila Watch's database lists Espolòn Blanco at 60 of 95 and Espolòn Reposado at 58 of 95 on the four pillar TW Score, figures unrelated to any event tie-in and not something this sponsorship changes.
