Man of Many published a guide in July 2026 walking through Teremana Tequila's three core expressions, Blanco, Reposado and Añejo, tracing their production back to Destilería Teremana de Agave, NOM 1613, in the Jalisco highlands.

The piece is structured as a buying guide rather than a news report, pointing readers to retailers for each bottle and slotting the brand alongside other aged-agave picks the outlet has covered before. It lands as Teremana, founded by Dwayne Johnson in March 2020, continues adding international markets under a distribution and equity arrangement with the German company Mast-Jägermeister.

What separates Blanco, Reposado and Añejo

Teremana Blanco is the unaged entry point, distilled twice in copper pot stills from mature Blue Weber agave grown in the Jalisco highlands, according to the brand's own production notes. Reposado follows, rested in American oak, though the exact barrel time is not consistently documented: retailer listings for the bottle put it anywhere from roughly two months to eight months, and Teremana has not published a single fixed figure. Añejo, the last of the three released, spends at least a year in American whiskey barrels; Caskers' account of the line states it arrived after Blanco and Reposado specifically because the company wanted more time to refine the recipe.

Where and by whom the tequila is made

All three expressions come out of one facility built specifically for the brand, Destilería Teremana de Agave, in the town of Jesús María in the southern Los Altos highlands of Jalisco. The distillery operates under NOM 1613, the four digit registration the Consejo Regulador del Tequila assigns to certify an authentic tequila producer, as The Spirits Business has reported. Production has run through the Lopez family, described in that reporting as third generation agave growers and second generation distillers, who continue to oversee output under that NOM. Teremana is marketed by Siete Bucks Spirits, the company Johnson co-founded, which the brand states oversees production standards, compliance and regulatory alignment, according to a company release.

The volume numbers behind the brand

Teremana sold 300,000 nine liter cases in its first year after the March 2020 launch, a figure Johnson cited to Fox Business at the time. Park Street, an import and distribution firm, has reported the brand reached nearly 900,000 cases by the end of 2021. The Spirits Business reported that Teremana then passed one million nine liter cases in the twelve months from April 2022 to April 2023, a pace the outlet said made it the fastest premium spirits brand to reach that volume. Mast-Jägermeister became Teremana's global distributor in early 2020 and took an undisclosed minority stake in the brand in February 2022, also per The Spirits Business. Richard Black joined as Teremana's chief executive in September 2022. In 2024 the company began building a second production facility on the same Jesús María land, which CEO Black said was meant to preserve the small batch process while meeting rising demand, and the brand entered the UK that June before adding markets including the UAE, Australia, Colombia and Germany.

What this means

In Tequila Watch's database, Teremana Blanco carries a TW Score of 57 of 95 and Teremana Reposado a 55 of 95; Teremana Añejo has not yet been scored, and none carries an organic certification on file. The case volume figures are well documented across trade press. What is not documented anywhere checked here is a single, brand confirmed aging window for the Reposado, a gap worth watching if Teremana ever publishes its own production specification in full.
