For producers, importers and anyone else we have written about. You can correct our facts. You cannot buy our opinion, and we will not pretend otherwise.
A fact is something that can be checked against a record: a NOM number, an alcohol strength, an owner, a distillery, a price, a date, an award. If ours is wrong, send us the record and we will fix it and log it. A score, a tasting note and an editorial judgement are opinions. We will read your argument, we will publish your response, and we will not change a number because a brand is unhappy with it.
Any verifiable fact, on evidence. Send the document rather than the assertion: a certificate, a label, a CRT record, a lab report, a distribution agreement, a dated photograph of the bottling in question. The stronger the record, the faster this goes.
A score, because you would prefer a higher one. A tasting note, because you disagree with the palate that wrote it. A published opinion, because it is unflattering. None of these are errors, and treating them as negotiable would make every other number on this site worthless.
A producer who disagrees with our assessment may send a response of up to 150 words. We will publish it on the dossier, attributed to you, unedited except for length and anything defamatory of a third party. You do not have to accept our view quietly, and we would rather the disagreement be visible than not.
If you believe the bottling we tasted was not representative, for example a damaged, counterfeit or out of date lot, tell us and say why. Where the argument is credible we will source another bottle at retail and taste it again. We will publish the outcome whichever way it goes, including when the score does not move.
Write to corrections@tequilawatch.com with the URL, the sentence at issue, and what you say the record shows. A human reads every message. We aim to acknowledge within three business days and to reach a decision within ten. If we decline to change something, we will tell you why rather than going quiet.
Nothing. We have none, we accept none, and no offer of one will be considered as part of a correction. Raising the possibility will not help your case and we may say publicly that it was raised.
Every correction is logged permanently and in public on the corrections page. We do not quietly rewrite.
